It is to be noted that all admission will stand cancelled if the candidate fails to verify the original documents on the stipulated day and time as mentioned above.

After the 4th round admission merit list, if the seats found to be remain vacant, then that remaining seats will be fulfilled by the counseling procedure.

All Honours Classes will commence from 12.07.2018. Students are requested to contact with the respective HODs  for class routine etc.

Eligibility Criteria

Necessary information regarding admission in Honours and General Courses in B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. Part‐I in Balurghat College for the academic session 2018.

1. For application in Honours courses either 45% in Grand total in H.S. or equivalent (10+2) examination best five (including English and best four subjects) and pass marks in Honours seeking subject or 40% in Grand total and 50% in Honours seeking subject is mandatory. For SC / ST Candidates either 40% in grand total and pass marks in Honours seeking subject or 35% in grand total and 50% in Honours seeking subject is mandatory.
2. Candidates seeking admission in Physics/ Chemistry/Mathematics Honours shall have to pass the other two subjects in H.S. or equivalent (10+2) Examination.
3. Candidates seeking Honours in Zoology/ Botany shall have to pass in Chemistry in H.S. or equivalent exam.
4. For Computer Science candidates must have pass marks in Physics and Mathematics in H.S. or equivalent exam.
5. Candidates of Vocational courses can get admission only in B.A. (General) or B.Com. (General) courses.
6. Change of Subject combinations for both Honours and General will not be allowed in any circumstances once opted for.

7.A student belonging to Science stream in H.S. may opt for honours in any stream . (Except Geography)

ii) A student belonging to Commerce stream in H.S. may opt for honours in Commerce or Arts Streams. . (Except Geography)

iii) A student belonging to Arts stream in H.S may opt for honours in Arts stream only.

iv) A student willing to take admission in Geography Honours and General must have pass marks in Geography in H.S. or equivalent examination

8.Merit score computation formula

i. (Subject opted for honours + best five including English) / 6

ii. If opted honours subject is not in H.S. :- ( 0 + best five including English) / 6

iii. 5 % and 10 % merit point will be deducted from total merit points credited to the students who have passed H.S. or equivalent (10 + 2) examinations in 2017 and 2016 respectively

9. If any student passed H.S. or equivalent (10+2) Examination under the Board / Council that conducts their examination above 500 marks, then their merit score will be calculated by fixing 500 as base marks..
10. Only State Level and National Level Boards in regular mode will be allowed to take admission in Honours/General courses as per UGB.
11. Candidates qualifying (10+2) Examination with English as a subject of the West Bengal State Council for Vocational Education and Training shall have to comply with serial no. 10 and are eligible to get admission to B.A. & B.Com General courses only.

Mandatory Disclosure for online form submission & the entire admission process
  • This Online Admission Portal is meant for the applicants who are willing to seek Admission at Balurghat College for B.A. / B.Sc./ B.Com. Part – I Hons/ General for the Academic session 2018-2019
  • This application is meant for provisional admission subject to approval of Gour Banga University
  • It is assumed that the information furnished in this application is true to the best of the knowledge of the applicant. In case of any false/ misleading information, the application will be summarily rejected.
  • It is also assumed that the applicant is applying voluntarily on his/her own discretion without being influenced by any third party. The College Authority will never entertain any claim regarding this.
  • Applicants willing to seek admission must comply with the rules and regulations of the college and the Gour Banga University , which may be amended in due course of time
  • Application does not confirm to Admission
  • In case of Admission, the decision of the Admission Committee/ College Authority will be deemed to be final and no queries will be entertained.
  • The college authority reserves the rights of admission/ rejection of any applicant/ candidate irrespective of the caste/ creed/ gender/ financial & social status without assigning any reason whatsoever.
  • In case of fraudulent activities/ misconduct observed even at a later stage, the candidate/ student may be debarred from the college at the sole discretion of the College Authority
  • Any attempt to intrude with vested interests is subject to punishment as per laws

Admission Guideline

 

  1.  Upon clicking on the Admission 2018-19 banner the form will be displayed.

  2.  An applicant will have to fill up details like Full Name, HS or (10+2) Stream, Caste, Passing Year of 10+2 level

  3.  Under Academic Details, the applicant has to key in a few characters of the Subject Name and select the subject from the available pop-up. The theory and practical marks are to be entered separately. The % of marks and best 5% will be automatically calculated.

  4. Then the applicant should choose their stream, type and subject combination from Select Your Preferred Courses.

  5. The Personal details have to be entered and then a Mandatory Preview appears.

  6. After entering all the data the form can be submitted by clicking the Confirm button.

  7. On successful submission of the form, eg. Form No BLGC1605740 is displayed. An applicant can View/ Print the Application Form.

  8. Clicking on the Click to Apply for another Subject allows the applicant to select another combination.

  9. The applicant may visit the student's area on the home page for payment of application fees or he can find the Pay Button while submitting any course/ the first application.


  10. Once an applicant proceeds for the payment, one cannot add any other subject in the same form. An applicant can then only delete subjects from the current form. You may certainly make a fresh application, if you wish to apply for new subjects and pay accordingly. Please think twice before going ahead with the payment processing.

Note that online payment of admission fees is not the confirmation of admission. Production of the following original testimonials is mandatory at the office of the college for verification as per scheduled dates ( please see important dates on the web page) for final confirmation of admission in the college . If original testimonials are not verified on scheduled date, admission will be cancelled.

Requisite testimonials to be verified-

  1. Original & Xerox copy of H.S. Marksheet [self-attested].
  2. Original & Xerox copy of M.P. Admit [self-attested].
  3. Original & Xerox copy of SC / ST / OBC-A / OBC-B / PH Certificate, [self- attested] If applicable.
  4. Application Form.
  5. Admission Acceptance Form.
  6. Receipt copy of Admission Fee.
  7. Passport size photographs (2 copies)
